The Queen Victoria Building, now affectionately known as the QVB, was erected in 1898 and designed by 28-time-old mastermind George McRae, replacing the original Sydney request on the point. Erected as a monument to the long reigning monarch, construction took place in dire times, while Sydney was in a severe recession.

The Queen Victoria Building  is a heritage- listed late- nineteenth- century structure designed by mastermind George McRae located at 429 – 481 George Street in the Sydney central business quarter, in the Australian state of New South Wales.
